The arrival of the Mantra marked the beginning of the ultra-powerful freeride ski models. This range of skis is aimed at skiers who want to carve their line off-piste in complete freedom, without any restrictions, while enjoying the total control offered by the sporty design of an all-mountain ski. The new Blaze range even introduces an extra dimension, mainly aimed at intuitive freeriders who prefer a sporty style of skiing, but who also place a high value on fun and lightness. Weighing in at just 1,566 grams (179 cm in length), the Blaze 94 is designed to fit a very wide range of use and provide exceptional glide in almost all snow conditions. A Titanal Binding Platform of only 0.3 mm thickness allows for direct transmission of support and rapid pressure build-up for precise edge-to-edge reaction. The benefit of a more precise and faster ski reaction is particularly noticeable in narrow passages and on uneven terrain, and is also reflected in a reduced physical effort. These benefits are mainly due to the 3D radius construction. Although the Blaze was designed for fast, tight turns, its three different radii of curvature, including the multi-layer hybrid wood core from tip to tail, are perfectly suited to all types of skiing and are suitable for even the most ambitious of uses. Another outstanding feature of this ski is the Suspension Tip. The elastic rubber material applied to the tip and tail acts as a shock absorber, especially in wind-blown or trafficked snow conditions, and ensures increased resistance to disturbance and optimised flotation. Thanks to its light weight, the Blaze is also popular as a freeride and touring ski. For this purpose Völkl offers specially adapted skins for all Blaze models in all sizes.
