Mask maintenance

Once you have made an investment and purchased a ski or snowboard goggle, you will want to take care of it so that it lasts as many seasons as possible. To help you, here are some basic tips

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR EQUIPMENT

- Never let the shield touch the table or a hard surface when you set it down. - Use only a soft cloth (not clothing) or anti-fog cloth to blot (not wipe) the facepiece shield. Wiping is more abrasive and can remove the anti-fog coating inside the shield.

- After your day of sport, allow the mask to air dry before storing it in its case.
- Store your mask in a soft bag when not in use. Most masks come with a soft pouch.
- Do not dry the mask in direct sunlight or high temperatures, such as on the dashboard or hanging from the rear view mirror.

Here are some tips to reduce fogging:

- Keep moving! The airflow you create prevents fogging.
- Shake excess snow off the mask. Do not wipe the screen with your glove, as your glove is abrasive and can scratch it.
- Clear snow from the vents.
- Avoid putting your mask on your forehead.
- If your mask fogs up, place it in a warm, dry pocket (Protest, Rossignol or Helly Hansen ski jackets usually have a mask pocket for this purpose).
- You can also try shaking it up and down to create an air flow.
